DSS is a specific software module integrated in the DCS which supports decision-making activities during on board emergency management (fire, flooding, NBC, etc..).
DSS supports the safety officers in the emergency fighting procedure execution through an Automatic Check List that is selected according to:

• Emergency type (fire, flooding, NBC..)
• Ship area
• Ship operational role

Every check list is designed according to the Navy internal rules and it includes set of emergency fighting information that are collected in additional cards known as kill cards. These kill cards are dynamically shown according to the check list action under execution in order to support the safety officer in the successfully completion of the action (i.e. fans to be stopped for that room during the Ventilation Crash Stop Action).
